This tool generates a single-elimination bracket, e.g. 4 teams produce a Semifinals round followed by a Final.

Type one team (or player) name per line to generate a single-elimination tournament bracket — perfect for office pools, game nights, and small competitions.

If your team count isn't a power of two (2, 4, 8, 16, 32...), the bracket is automatically padded with byes using standard tournament seeding, which places each bye against a real team rather than pairing two byes against each other — the fair, conventional way to handle an uneven entry count. Up to 64 teams are supported, and every match in a later round automatically references the correct match number from the round before it, so the bracket stays consistent as results are filled in.

  • Any team count works: if your count isn't a power of two (2, 4, 8, 16, 32...), the bracket is padded with byes, placed using standard tournament seeding so a bye is always paired against a real team rather than another bye.
  • Up to 64 teams are supported per bracket.
  • Later rounds reference the previous round's match numbers (e.g. "Winner of Round 1 Match 1") since the actual winners aren't known until each round is played.

What happens if I don't have a power-of-two number of teams?

The bracket automatically adds "bye" slots so every team is included — teams with a bye automatically advance to the next round.

Does this randomize or seed the teams?

Teams are placed in the order you list them, spread across the bracket using a standard seeding pattern (not randomized) so byes are distributed fairly.
