Military, aviation, medical, and international contexts commonly use 24-hour time to avoid AM/PM ambiguity — this tool converts your everyday clock time into that format.

The conversion rule is simple once you know it: AM hours stay exactly the same numerically (with 12 AM, midnight, becoming 00), while PM hours add 12 — except for 12 PM (noon), which stays as 12 rather than becoming 24. Military time is always written as a fixed 4-digit HH:MM with no AM/PM suffix at all, which is precisely the point of the format: it removes the ambiguity of whether "6:00" means morning or evening, a genuinely useful property in contexts like flight schedules, hospital shift logs, or international coordination where a misread AM/PM could cause real problems.
