Enter a location's latitude and longitude, a date, and the UTC offset currently in effect there, to calculate sunrise, sunset, and total day length using the standard NOAA/Meeus solar position formula (accurate to roughly a minute).
Coordinates should be entered in decimal degrees — for example, New York City is approximately 40.71, -74.01. The same formula used by NOAA's own solar calculator drives the result, which is useful for planning outdoor photography around golden hour, scheduling prayer times, or general astronomical curiosity. Remember to enter the UTC offset actually in effect on the chosen date (accounting for daylight saving time manually), and note that near the poles in summer or winter the sun may not rise or set at all on a given date.
