This calculator applies a percentage discount to an original price to show you the final sale price and the exact amount saved.

Whether you're a retailer setting up a sale campaign or a shopper verifying a "20% off" tag, this calculator does the same simple math: multiply the original price by the discount percentage to find the savings, then subtract to get the final price.

Retailers use this to model promotions and confirm the resulting margin still works; shoppers use it to double-check advertised savings.

  • Formula: Final Price = Original Price × (1 − Discount % ÷ 100).
  • Savings: Original Price × (Discount % ÷ 100) — the amount taken off.
  • Stacking discounts: Two sequential discounts (e.g. 20% then 10%) do NOT add to 30% off — they compound to 28% off. Apply this calculator twice, feeding the first result back in as the new original price.

Does a 50% discount followed by a 50% discount make it free?

No — discounts compound multiplicatively, not additively. 50% off, then 50% off the new price, leaves you paying 25% of the original price, not 0%.

How do I calculate the discount percentage instead, if I know both prices?

Discount % = (Original Price − Final Price) ÷ Original Price × 100.
